Dear Ms. Smith-Brumfield,
I came across your website through a constant google search for anything “Bridge of Hope” on the world wide web. I work for Bridge of HOpe National, a non-profit, faith based ministry to homeless single mothers. We launch and nurture affiliate sites across the country to do this important work. Our ministry is ecumenical and uses a three way partnership between a women experiencing homelessness, a social worker, and a trained church based mentoring group. I do wish you were located in PA, as I would just love to have you present at our annual conference on cultural awareness in mentoring. But alas, we work on a very limited budget. So we’re not in a position to pay travel costs.
My reason for writing is actually personal. I would like to know more about your book, Raising African American Girls. I am a caucasian mother of an African American 2 year old, soon to have another little one join our home as well. I am interested in all the help I can get to help her develop and embrace her identity as an African American girl. Can you provide more insight into the nature of your book as well as information on how to obtain a copy?
Thanks so much for your time and assistance. Blessings in your own ministry and work.
